This Privacy Policy explains how BackupBot collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of our Discord bot service. This policy applies to all users of BackupBot.

Information We Collect

Server Data

• Server Information: When you use the /addserver command, we collect basic information about your Discord server, including server name, description, member count, creation date, boost count, and boost level.
• Server Assets: We collect and process server assets including the server's icon, banner, splash image, and discovery splash (if available).
• Channel Structure: We collect information about your Discord server's channels, including names and channel types (text, voice, categories).
• Role Information: We collect role names and/with their permissions.
• Role Icons: If the roles have custom icons, these are collected during the backup process.
• Custom Emojis and Stickers: We collect all custom emojis and stickers from your server.

Configuration Data

• Server ID: We store the ID of the Discord server you chose for the bot to backup in.
• Log Channel ID: We store the ID of the channel you chose for receiving the backup files.
• Timezone Settings: We store your selected timezone for scheduling backups.
• Backup Schedule Information: We store information about when your next backup is scheduled.
• Backup components: We store what you pick for what's saved and what's not.

How We Use Information

Backup Creation and Storage

• We use the collected information to create comprehensive backups of your Discord server.
• Backups are packaged as ZIP files and delivered through your designated log channel.
• For larger files that exceed Discord's file size limits, we use our CDN service to store them and provide a download link.

Service Functionality

• We use configuration data to schedule automatic backups according to your preferences.
• We monitor backup success rates to ensure the service is functioning properly.

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

• Server configuration data is stored on an SQLite Database on our servers.
• Backup files are temporarily stored during the creation and delivery process, then promptly deleted after successful delivery.

Third-Party Services

• For large backups, we use our CDN (cdn.backupbot.net) as a file hosting service. Files uploaded to our CDN are subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy, which is beyond our control.
• We use the Discord Bot API to interact with your server, and information/files shared with Discord are subject to their Privacy Policy, which is beyond our control.

Data Retention

• Temporary Files: Backup folders and ZIP files are deleted from our servers immediately after successful delivery to your log channel.
• Configuration Data: Server configuration data is retained as long as you continue to use the service.
• Uploaded Files: Files uploaded to our CDN for larger backups remain available via the provided link until manually deleted.

User Rights

Access and Control

• You can view your next backup at any time using the /status command.
• You can modify your backup timezone using the /changetimezone command.
• You can deactivate backups at any time using the /deactivate command.
• You can completely remove your Discord server from our Database using the /removeserver command.
• You can modify what's saved and what's not using the /configurebackupcomponents command.

Data Deletion

• When you use the /removeserver command, all configuration data associated with your Discord server is deleted from our Database.
• Existing backup files delivered to your log channel remain your responsibility and can be deleted from Discord at your discretion.
• For backups uploaded to our CDN, you should retain the provided links if you wish to access these files later.

International Data Transfers

Our services operate globally, and your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. These countries may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will (or won't) notify users of significant changes through our Discord support server and/or through direct announcement in your log channel.
